The desire to write first over took me in middle school after reading 'The Red Planet' by Robert A. Heinlein. From that point on, I could not get enough, and as the ideas filled my head, I had to find a way to let them out.
It was then I discovered the beauty of writing. Not only that, but I had to write. I wrote stories, dreams, poems, anything I could think of. By the time I hit high school, I had already written several novellas, though looking at them now, I cringe at the grammar.
Majoring in Computer Science, my writing went on hold, though I did write several books through High School and College. Married after graduation, one week after, I sought and found work, returning to my home town. I started my own computer business at thirty, and have been writing through out those years. At forty-five I decided it was time to really work at getting published.
I once read, 'A writer writes. It does not matter if anyone else reads it, they have to write!' I agree completely. However, it is nice to have other people appreciate your hard work.
P.S. If you would like some extra advertising about the things you have or want to publish, please let me know. I'll be glad to help make announcements on facebook under the 'Bam! We Are Writers and Authors' and the 'Stories To Tell' pages. You can even become facebook friends and post them yourself. See you there!
